GANSU2 User Portal — Account Terms of Service

These Terms govern your GANSU2 User Account (“Account”) created through the GANSU2 User Portal at https://gansu2.github.io/portal/ and your use of any GANSU2 license keys attached to that Account. They supplement the GANSU2 Terms and Conditions that apply to all use of the software.

1. Acceptance

By creating an Account, or by activating any license key issued under the Account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an Account.

2. The Account

A GANSU2 User Account is the personal identity through which we attribute license keys to you. On creation, the Account is provisioned automatically with one Free License, which you start from the portal dashboard. We may, at our sole discretion, attach additional licenses to your Account. All licenses, regardless of type, are governed by these Terms in addition to any specific terms communicated when the license is issued.

3. License grant

For each license attached to your Account, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use GANSU2 subject to the period, Max Size limit, and other terms shown on your portal dashboard for that license.

The Free License permits any use of GANSU2, including commercial use. There is no restriction to evaluation, research, or non-commercial purposes. Other license types may carry different terms, specified at the time the license is issued or in a separate agreement.

4. One Account per individual

Each individual may hold and operate only one GANSU2 User Account at any given time. You may not:

  • create or operate more than one Account, including via email aliases, alternate addresses, or accounts registered under a colleague’s or relative’s name, for the purpose of obtaining additional licenses or evading any Account-level restriction;
  • share Account credentials with another person, or transfer your Account to another person.

We may suspend or close any Account that, in our reasonable judgement, violates this clause, and revoke any licenses attached to it.

5. Restrictions

You may not:

  • redistribute or sublicense the GANSU2 binaries, libraries, or license keys;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from binaries;
  • circumvent the activation, machine-binding, verification, or rate-limit mechanisms — including, without limitation, the deactivation cooldown and renewal window.

6. Data we collect

We collect your email, name, organization, role, country, and stated purpose when you create the Account.

When you activate or verify a license, we collect technical information about your environment. This includes, for example, a machine fingerprint, hostname, OS username, OS, CPU / GPU information, RAM size, IP address, and version information about your runtime environment (the GANSU2 software, the execution frontend — C++ or Python, and the Python version when applicable — the system C library (glibc), the GPU driver, and similar). We use this solely for license administration and to inform compatibility and support decisions, such as when to end support for older versions.

We do not collect or transmit any of the following:

  • the source code or compiled binaries of your programs
  • the molecular geometries, basis sets, or other input data you work with
  • the contents of the calculations you set up (methods, parameters, etc.)
  • computation results, energies, wavefunctions, or any other output
  • the contents of your files or their paths

License-verification messages contain only the technical metadata described at the beginning of this section.

Any free-text memos or notes that you voluntarily attach to a license through the User Portal are stored alongside that license and are visible to GANSU2 administrators. Do not enter sensitive personal information, secrets, or third-party confidential data into these memos.

We record the sign-up information (your email, name, organization, role, country, and stated purpose), and may disclose it to our collaborators for the purpose of providing information about GANSU2 and related software. License-verification metadata (machine fingerprint, IP, hardware specifications, etc.) is not disclosed for these purposes.

You may opt out of such disclosures at any time by contacting us through the address shown on the GANSU2 website; opting out does not affect the operation of your existing licenses.

7. Disclaimer of warranty

GANSU2 is provided “AS IS”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Termination

We may suspend or revoke any license, or close your Account, at any time, with or without cause and without notice. You may delete your Account from the User Portal at any time; all licenses attached to the Account will be suspended.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or portal notice.
